Beacon of Hope Goals
Personnel Goal: To utilize the staff and
volunteers of the organization to provide high quality service to the Old
Fourth Ward, Downtown, and Midtown community and its residents.
Personnel Objectives: To actively recruit, train, and retain
passionate, experienced, and knowledgeable board members, staff, and
volunteers.
Fiscal Goal: To maintain an organization that is fiscally sound,
well-managed, and represents a diverse economic portfolio including
investments, cash, and savings.
Fiscal Objective: To allocate all funding in a diligent, prudent,
resourceful, and honorable manner to designated programs and initiatives.
To, at all times, operate in an efficient, responsible, and accountable
manner, understanding the importance and benefits of truthfulness and
integrity.
Program Goals: To be the most reliable and comprehensive provider of
education, human service and community development programs in the Old
Fourth Ward, Midtown, and Downtown communities.
Program Objective: To remain responsive to the needs of the community
through the development and implementation of relevant educational, human
service, and economic empowerment programs.
Educational Goal: To provide accredited, accessible, and affordable
early childhood and school-aged (out of school time) educational services to
the children of the Old Fourth Ward, Downtown, and Midtown community.
Objectives: To acquire and maintain all necessary and required
certifications and accreditations from the State of Georgia for the purpose
of operating early childhood learning centers, schools, after-school, and
out of school time programs designed to service students on levels pre-k
through 12th grades. Maintain national accreditation by the National
Association for the Education of Young Children.
Human Services Goal: To consistently provide effective services that
foster and encourage successful living—personally and within the community.
Objectives: To address the various needs of the community in an
effort to improve the quality of life for residents through the provision of
opportunities related to: employment, fair and quality housing, financial
planning, life skills, violence and drug prevention, and intervention.
Community Development Goal: To maintain a safe, healthy, and
economically-viable environment for residents of the Old Fourth Ward,
Downtown, and Midtown.
Objectives: To offer community programs aimed at educating and
empowering the citizens of the Old Fourth Ward, Downtown, and Midtown
community about the importance of reducing crime, drugs, violence, and
unemployment, thereby contributing to shedding negative stigmas of the
community as an undesirable location for business and residential life
devoid of caring, committed, and concerned citizens. To also increase home
and business ownership by minority groups within this community, by
facilitating and encouraging home ownership opportunities, as well as
serving as an example of economic development and empowerment through
diverse investments within the area.

Bright From The Start, Standards of Care Division conducted an extensive observation and evaluation of Beacon of Hope's Renaissance Learning Center on April 6th, 2009 and concluded that Beacon of Hope should be awarded the prestigious title of "Center of Distinction." This is noted on the Bright From The Start website.
