Community Development and Housing Assistance

Beacon of Hope entered the community revitalization and development arena through (1) its acquisition of 13 parcels of neighborhood blighted property; (2) its designation as a Community Housing Development Organization (CHDO); and (3) its City of Atlanta grant awards. This enterprise promotes economic development and increases Atlanta's inventory of high quality (safe and decent) affordable housing units for low to moderate income working families. We implement a strategic plan to possess the land and eliminate absent and irresponsible landlords in order to reface a community plagued with destructive elements. Our current project is the development of over 30 high quality rental units (mixed income) on the Boulevard Corridor; and a commercial-retail-residential development (mixed income and mixed use) on the Boulevard Corridor. We also work diligently with neighborhood associations and organizations to improve public safety and the community at large.
